Biography
Rapsoda is a Colombian band that was formed in 2000 in the city of Cali. The original members were Pablo Roa, Gerry Franco, Jackeline Tasamá, Luigi Vallejo, and Hernando Martínez. With the initial support of producer Antonio Perlaza, they began their career providing successful musical accompaniment to well-known international artists such as Sabú, Rudy Márquez, Tormenta, Manolo Galván, Nilton César, Lucho Muñoz, Leo Dan, Elio Roca, and many others.
In the following years, the band underwent several lineup changes but always preserved its signature style: a modern and polished approach to the great romantic classics of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Under the production of Fabián Montoya, Rapsoda expanded its performances across Latin America, accompanying prominent artists such as Jeanette and Juan Bau.
The group released three albums: the ballad “Nadie Más” in 2002, the album “Tus Recuerdos Hechos Música”, and in 2024 the album “Dulce Vida”, which stood out for its title track—a remarkable cover of an Italian pop song that reached number one—as well as other covers like “Déjame En Paz” and “Esperanzas”.
By 2024, Rapsoda was composed of Pablo Roa, Charlie Osz, Kelly Rodríguez, Evelyn Arroyo, Andrea Quintero, Julián Vargas, Harold Cruz, Edwin Betancourt, and Juan Gabriel Calderón, establishing itself as one of the most representative contemporary romantic music bands in Colombia.
